HOPPY Easter Everyone! This week is filled with anticipation for the big bunny's visit this weekend. We've dusted our baskets, purchased our eggs (soon to be boiled and dyed), and planned our special Easter outfits for church this Sunday. Yesterday and today, my kiddoes played Easter Bunny for their classmates and passed out some treats. They were full of excitement to do this for their friends! They even dressed for the occasion in their special shirts. (Shirts? Did she just say shirts? Plural? More than one?) Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I said shirts!
In the previous post, you viewed my efforts in creating an Easter shirt for my "not-so-little" little guy. Well, in the interest of being of fair, and we all know that is a major concern for a mom, I had to make a shirt for my little puddin'. So, I used one of the ideas popping up all over blogdom and made a simple & sweet bunny silhouette shirt....embellished, of course!

I followed the same procedure in making this shirt, as used for the pirate bunny shirt. Wash and iron garment and fabric, use Heat-n-Bond to attach applique, and stitch around applique. The differences in creating this one include using a pattern from wolf and willow's Candy Cottontail Bunny Pillow, hand-stitching around the applique, and embellishing the bunny with a bow, buttons, and beads. To complete the look for my little fashionista, I made a bow for her hair that looks just like the bunny's bow. Wow, was she thrilled! She was ready to dress for school at 7:15pm last night! It made me smile to know that I created such happiness for her. Here is one more look at the embellishments:
This Sunday, we'll attend an Easter egg hunt at the Botanical Center, wearing our new Easter shirts. I hope the gardens will not only be full of eggs, but will also be full of beautiful, fragrant spring blooms. As we drive around town, we see loads of tulips, hyacinth, and daffodils. My daughter is nuts for daffodils! After living so many years in Arctic abundance, a flower-filled garden will make my Easter much happier. As for the kiddoes, egg-filled baskets will make their day. I hope that all of you have the happiest Easter too!
